Note to editors on how to manage collapsibility:

• Use {{Types of administrative country subdivision|state=collapsed}} to show this template in its collapsed (hidden) state.
• Use {{Types of administrative country subdivision|state=expanded}} to show this template in its expanded (fully visible) state.
• Use {{Types of administrative country subdivision|state=autocollapse}} to show this template in its collapsed (hidden) state only if there is another template of the same type on the page. (This is usually the default.)

Smallcaps

Terms in small capitals ("smallcaps") are terms used (in English and/or translation) by ten or more countries, i.e. there are at least ten distinct entries under their headings in [[List of terms for contemporary administrative country subdivisions]] – now deleted apparently without any replacement, though try Table of administrative divisions by country. "browser diversity" is by definition commonly used.
